Louisiana-born-and-raised artist Morgan Tanner spends the hours of 8-5 at her engineering day job and her free time painting. She was introduced to art in sixth grade music class after taking a pop-quiz where students were asked to draw and label their recorder from memory. What was meant to be a simple exercise, Morgan took with meticulous detail, even adding shading to her recorder for depth. The teacher recommended Morgan be tested for the Gifted & Talented Art program, which sparked Morgan’s interest for design and color.
Morgan has been formally trained in charcoal, watercolor, acrylic, and oil. She prefers acrylic on canvas because quick-drying paint works best for Morgan’s signature style utilizing layering to create vibrant colors with deep contrast.
